APPLS has an unique feature of suggesting cost-effective orders. APPLS can see how many parts would be below safety stock on receiving a particular demand order. It can then parculate through the BOM to see if child parts can be used to manufacture to meet the demand. If not, it can parse through vendor details to see who among the possible vendors is cost-effective. APPLS can then place RFQ/PO depending on User choice. APPLS runs on TomCat (a freely distributed web-server) with Sun's Java Virtual Machin (JVM), which is again free. You can use MS-Access, if you have it. APPLS can be used on IIS, Apache, and any other web-server that can interact with TomCat.
